Allow Location Access when You First Open OfficerReports
When you open OfficerReports for the first time you will see a dialog box that asks you to allow location access:
Always allow is not an option for this prompt. You can tap the option to Allow While Using App. In the next section we cover how to enable Always access. |
Enable Always Allow Location Access for OfficerReports
While on duty most officers will turn their screen off to save battery or have to switch to another app (when making a phone call for example). While your screen is off or you have OfficerReports running in the background your location data is not available - this can cause delay when performing actions as your location can take a moment to update when OfficerReports is running in the foreground again.
**** OfficerReports ONLY uses location information while you are logged in and have selected a Site, while the App is active on your screen, the screen is off, or if it is running in the background ****
You will want to set your location access to Always for OfficerReports:
