Here are a few things that you can check, that may be causing geofence alerts to trigger when the officer is still physically located within the geofence or when they leave the Site at the end of their shift:


Enable Precise Location (iOS)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Open iPhone Settings.
  2. Navigate to OfficerReports.
  3. Access Location settings.
  4. Ensure "Always" is selected.
  5. Toggle "Precise Location" to the on (green) position.


Adjusting Location Settings (Android)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Access your device's Settings.
  2. Search for "Location."
  3. Enable High Accuracy or Improved Accuracy settings.


Geofence Shape Optimization (if Custom Shape is being used)

If your site has a custom shape with numerous location points along the geofence edge, consider:

  • Redrawing the geofence with a custom shape having fewer points.
  • Alternatively, switch to a Rectangle or Circle geofence shape for simplicity.


Preventing Shift-End Alerts

If you receive excessive alerts when shifts end, remind officers to:

  1. Sign out of the app.
  2. Close the app entirely (do not leave it running in the background).
